Black Hole Lab — Orbits, Black Holes & Spaceships

☀️ Central star

Central star mass — solar masses

The central star remains fixed at the origin. Planets, gravity stars, and spaceships orbit it using Newtonian gravity.

🪐 Add bodies

Orbital radius New gravity-star mass — solar masses

Adds the chosen body on a circular orbit at this radius. Click-drag on the map launches one by hand.

✨ Exotic compact object

These are horizonless comparison models. The gravastar has a thin shell and transparent interior; the boson star is diffuse and bends light more weakly.

🎯 Create objects

Gravity-star mass — solar masses

Launch speed 0.350 c

00.5 c0.99 c

Click-drag to aim and launch. A plain click selects an existing object. In Spaceship mode, a plain click places a stationary ship.

🎛️ Selected object

Click an object to select and edit it.

Speed 0.000 c

Direction — degrees Gravity-star mass — solar masses

🚀 Spaceship controls

Select a spaceship to fly it. Its clock ticks more slowly deep in gravity and at high speed.

Thrust power 0.20

Keyboard while a ship is selected: W forward, S backward, A rotate left, D rotate right.
